Find ways to cope with stress and to develop a positive attitude to life.
This is obviously a massive area and far too big to go into here. Your mental approach to life will often determine how healthy you are going to be.
On-going Adrenal stress can promote inflammation in your body and this in turn can lead to a whole host of in-balances throughout your endocrine system which in turn can develop over time into chronic illnesses.
A mindful approach to life and finding ways to relax are always to be encouraged. One of my key roles in therapy is to help you cope with stress and to help you plan your life more effectively and to help you get your priorities in the order.
One of the issues about getting a tough diagnosis from a specialist is that, quite often, you are not given any advice on how you can be proactive in supporting your own health.
This in itself is a stress factor and can make you negative. Simply waiting around for your next treatment or worrying about the next test can have a negative effect on your mental health and this, in turn, affects your physical health.
There is so much research out there that shows that if you are proactive with your health and take control then your mental health improves and so does your outcome.
Find time to relax
Everyone has their own unique way of relaxing. It might be exercise, watching movies, going to yoga classes etc Whatever it is, you must plan it in to your daily life.
If you are anxious or adrenally stressed then finding ways to reduce this has to be a priority because stress is a major cause of inflammation and, subsequently, disease.
There are many ways that you can do this and sometimes supplements can help you turn the corner. Everyone is different, so my job is to help you find the best way for you. just by being proactive and focusing on improving your health and to help you take charge of your health and generally be more proactive.
